From the perspective of comprehensive utilization of the solid waste, take the sludge of water purification plant with 30 % ~ 50 % diatomite as the research object, from the preparation technology, influencing factors and water treatment application, the two recycling methods of preparation of ceramic membrane and ceramsite are introduced, and the comparison is made from the perspective of economic benefits. The results show that the ceramic membrane prepared by water plant dewatering sludge has strong corrosion resistance and good filtration performance, and the pure water flux reaches 515.72L/(h·m2·kPa). The removal rate of precipitated effluent and recirculation water turbidity is 96% and 77% respectively, which can be applied in water treatment process. Compared with the preparation of ceramsite, the cost of ceramic membrane is only 10 % of the total cost, which has the advantages of cost and good economic benefits, which is beneficial to the popularization and application of the utilization.
